Chronicles of a love walk 1

Lagos Sunset (@b4best 2015) Hello Everyone. I have been going through a lot lately. As an individual, a budding career person, a friend, woman, sister and really I am learning that it is necessary for me to put to use all the learning, training and experiences that I have inside. I have been learning and growing painful sometimes, but i know that at the end of the day I win and come out on top. I have had a Myles Munroe's snippet on my phone that I play every morning as I commute to work:  "Everything that I need to be great and awesome is in me,  the tools are ready, the future is ready, the execution is up to me." We hear of a refiner's fire and I for one thought it was probably just a buffer cousin of cooking fire with a few burns and scrapes we will be fine, but I am learning that they are not even neighbours. Even though as I type this, I am grateful for God's mercy because if He decides to blast out everything once, I do not think I would ...

MID YEAR STOCK TAKING

Even though this post is several years due it still holds true today, As we come to the end of the first half of an amazing year,  there are many things to be grateful for.  In a place where there is a lot of uncertainty, what you have inside is what remains the most constant part. As a country, as a world, as individuals, there has been a lot of learning and unlearning, growing, pruning and changing. In many areas of our lives, there has been many seasons. But top of my list is gratitude. I just looked at my to do list for this year and I almost chuckled out loud because it seemed like a lofty dream in another life. I started taking mental note and I am not the same person that started the year. Birthday season 2018  I once heard that as you grow and evolve, your preferences evolve and I noticed that at the beginning of the year there are alot of things I wanted to do but they were not properly articulated but they got done just not the way I expect...

MID YEAR STOCK TAKING

In January,  Amos 9:13 The Message (MSG)  resonated with me and I did not know wh...

In -Style

"Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable. Style is more about being yourself.”- Oscar De La Renta. Growing up was pretty interesting because of the evolution of trends, i have seen some particular themes go out of vogue and make a grand come back. Its pretty inspiring that a fashion goon would refer you back to yourself when it comes to style because at the end of the day its not about the flashy lights or loud music, its about you. Transitioning into early teens, there is the need to receive the right kind of values and this sometimes translated into the community making sure that in your parent's bid to make a living, they did not allow you fall off the bus. One of the things that i distinctly remember is the issue of boxers or no boxers for girls, then the hazy line between where to and where not to wear shorts and trousers to. On one of such days, when i knew the "concerned public" would be in attendance; I just did the needful, wore an...

Lucy

I was a bit jealous when my neighbour and some friends (actually her friends i was meant to attach myself ) went for a girly date and i couldn't go.  The plan was to roam round the mall, watch a movie and head home. But being local girls like myself (No offence ladies) a particular somebody was almost passing out in her heels so they bought dunlop (actually flats), then watched Lucy because her name is Lucy (don't worry, they don't know your surname) and came home. When I asked about the movie, they didn't sound too pleased (No thanks to iroko and the likes).  Fast forward a month later and i see free wireless,  and lucy (don't do illegal ish). I downloaded it with mixed feelings Suddenly the movie started (popcorn less, movie dateless and sodaless), but i was grateful that i wasn't in the cinema. I have not yet recovered  (literally). It brought home a Sunday School lesson (or at least what they had been trying to teach us anyways). A girl going on her d...
