As we come to the end of the first half of an amazing year, there are many things to be grateful for. In a place where there is a lot of uncertainty, what you have inside is what remains the most constant part.
As a country, as a world, as individuals, there has been a lot of learning and unlearning, growing, pruning and changing. In many areas of our lives, there has been many seasons. But top of my list is gratitude.
I just looked at my to do list for this year and I almost chuckled out loud because it seemed like a lofty dream in another life. I started taking mental note and I am not the same person that started the year.
I once heard that as you grow and evolve, your preferences evolve and I noticed that at the beginning of the year there are alot of things I wanted to do but they were not properly articulated but they got done just not the way I expected.
In January, Amos 9:13The Message (MSG) resonated with me and I did not know why, but looking back I realise I had inside information all along.
13-15 “Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree.
“Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim,
one thing fast on the heels of the other.
You won’t be able to keep up.
Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel:
“They’ll rebuild their ruined cities.
They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine.
They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables.
And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land.
They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.”
God, your God, says so.
They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine.
They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables.
And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land.
They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.”
God, your God, says so.
Go and be awesome in the second half. You are a super power.
