Daisy

My flag flew at half mast this week. I lost a friend. It still sounds strange because we have not seen in the longest age. Everyone I mean everyone had something nice and pretty to say about her. I don't know if I have ever seen her cry. She was an encourager, a friend, a sister. Daisy : "fresh, wholesome, and energetic" image and that truly was our Daisy. When I think of the thing we will miss about her, I also think of the things we are grateful for in her life. Two weeks ago I would have been scared but today and now, I have peace that she is alright. God loves her (present continuous) and for me that is enough. I celebrate her life, her love, her warmth, her legacy, her kids, her home and even as every time I remember her I just cry there's this deep seated loss like I will no longer hear her praise God for her family milestones, I will no longer see her smile in mischief over something new. What i remember is her swaying with block s...

We're Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A new year, a new you. Familiarity tends to withhold us from experiencing new things. You think you know who you really are. Have you allowed yourself to find out the different faces of you. I for one have been on a different ride. Majorly in my interaction with others. I have been allowing myself to feel things that i dare not voice out. Not because they are bad, but in hind sight I think I felt that they will not conform. As we step into the new year. Just keep doing daily. Dare to be an outlier, adjust from what you think is the status quo because 80% of the time, you are the one that set up that status quo. Stop drawing up lists just do those things. I'm not saying don't have a plan but if you like to write things down alot and admire your lovely handwriting, you may just be one of those with an endless list of to dos. Feeling good inside is the best place to be because that is what matters the most. God dwells inside, He sees inside, when your heart i...

Chronicles of a love walk 1

Lagos Sunset (@b4best 2015) Hello Everyone. I have been going through a lot lately. As an individual, a budding career person, a friend, woman, sister and really I am learning that it is necessary for me to put to use all the learning, training and experiences that I have inside. I have been learning and growing painful sometimes, but i know that at the end of the day I win and come out on top. I have had a Myles Munroe's snippet on my phone that I play every morning as I commute to work:  "Everything that I need to be great and awesome is in me,  the tools are ready, the future is ready, the execution is up to me." We hear of a refiner's fire and I for one thought it was probably just a buffer cousin of cooking fire with a few burns and scrapes we will be fine, but I am learning that they are not even neighbours. Even though as I type this, I am grateful for God's mercy because if He decides to blast out everything once, I do not think I would ...

We found it.............. Congratulations Donnie McClurkin and Nicole C. Mullen

That was the sound of my parent's toast at their wedding many years ago.  When I discovered it was either we've found it or we've got it, I decided that at my wedding we would be sure enough to say we've found it (so they don't arrest us for copying them).  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field;  the which when a man hath found, he hideth,  and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Even though people know this as a bible story, I see a leave and cleave in this too.  I am mighty excited about  Nicole C. Mullen and  Donnie  McClurkin 's  upcoming  nuptials  . I watched the beginning of this video   and my heart was glad, the whole video is very cool. When next you want to advise me to reel in a man, Please remember that a man has to be willing to go out of his way to want to love me and pray for me and wash me and cover me with the wor...

BE COURAGEOUS

Hello Beautiful People As we come to the end to a perfect month, I stumbled on a mail I sent about 3 years ago. I was very proud of myself when i went through it because even though it reminds me of a failed experience, I was glad i was courageous about it. Many times we go through life unsure of the exact outcome of things and that in itself is not bad. In fact it is perfectly ok. One important thing to watch out for are the processes in your journey. After this experience I have learnt to put everything in God's hands and trust. Courage doesn't mean knowing it all. Courage means knowing and being aware that God is capable of handling your situation. No one is ever courageous for not trying because it is in the movement that you builds character. Whenever you are stationary, not moving, not changing, not growing, not dreaming, 99.99998% of the time there is a fear or discouragement factor in the picture. As I hold this lesson to chest I move into the new month celebrating Go...

MID YEAR STOCK TAKING

Even though this post is several years due it still holds true today, As we come to the end of the first half of an amazing year,  there are many things to be grateful for.  In a place where there is a lot of uncertainty, what you have inside is what remains the most constant part. As a country, as a world, as individuals, there has been a lot of learning and unlearning, growing, pruning and changing. In many areas of our lives, there has been many seasons. But top of my list is gratitude. I just looked at my to do list for this year and I almost chuckled out loud because it seemed like a lofty dream in another life. I started taking mental note and I am not the same person that started the year. Birthday season 2018  I once heard that as you grow and evolve, your preferences evolve and I noticed that at the beginning of the year there are alot of things I wanted to do but they were not properly articulated but they got done just not the way I expect...
