Na tintini remain (1)

Growing up there were various catch phrases in our local parlance. One of such was tintini.  Tintini was a phrase we used to describe something really tiny or something that was in our opinion was too little to matter. Recently i saw a phase that said "Na tintini remain" and i was taken back in time. If you wanted to express something in the same unit measurement of a grain of sand, you would have to go this route armed with a pinching hand gesture and a dramatic squint of one eye. That's the picture that comes to mind when i think of Jesus trying to explain the size of faith needed. Even though i'm sure he must have been learned, educated and had a great command of the vocabulary of his times. If he was gonna explain it to me today, i'm certain he would have used more than English to buttress his point because in order to hold a mustard seed up, he would have needed to pinch his fingers (just like tintini). In the story of the mustard seed faith, someone p...

Its not wrong,............................but its not right

There would always be that thin line between what you think and feel is wrong and the proper thing to do. The problem usually is that the action may not be bad in itself, its just that as far as you are concerned its a NO,NO. The bible talks about fleeing from all appearances of evil primarily because its a known fact that there are somethings that may not be bad in themselves but they appear bad. That is no time to call in the debate team and draw from your logic well. Its time to hit the road. As people will say 'OSO!!!!! I no wan know'. Retreat isn't always a bad thing. It might seem like a coward's option but it takes great wisdom to know when to turn away and how to pick your battles. It's not the big things that raise all the dust its the accumulation of the little things that eventually make you realize that some things far greater than money are being eroded. The rule of thumb is 1. If you have to think too much, take a step back 2. If you have t...

Just be held

If you have ever been close to a loved one or dear friend when your heart is broken and you feel like shattering, and they just wrap you up and allow you wail. You are always grateful to just be held. If you were scared and then someone you trust a lot just shows up, the embrace you receive sends you instantly to a place of comfort. If you are an outlier, a loner and probably don't roll with the crowd, when you get into your zone there's nothing that can be compared with that. When paul prays that the peace of God should garrison your heart, that is exactly what he is telling you to allow yourself experience. The fortress that God provides comes with peace. A barracks that is not seen usually just felt. The month of December is ending on an interesting note for me. From Night of worship to Experience. I have been someone that is used to having intermittent breaks and the feeling of self reliance and macho because of my self perceived  competence makes it very difficult to so...

Today I choose YOU!!!

Today i choose to wait       It may not be the popular or conventional choice,  but your plan Q is far better than my plan A** anyday. Today i choose to hope       It can only be delayed it can never be denied.  It is within your power to turn things around in my favour. Today i choose to love,        Its only in His nature that I can understand His fullness and  live the life He has called me to. Tempest raging, fires flaring with earnest yearning, I wait for your salvation.  You are the anchor to my soul, my hope and stay.                                                                        - Me. Had quite a number of pendulum moments this weekend and I had to keep reminding myself that head or tail I win not because I can, ...

Tribute to Myles Munroe : Rise, Move, Grow, Evolve

Are you ready? In the light of the recent press release by the Munroe family, I began to wonder am i ready? What has God placed in your hand?,  what report will he find? The story of the talents that  people love quoting is one that comes to mind. Usually people focus on the volume. Two producing two, five producing five, things like that. But the most important lesson is that there was productivity, movement and growth. That is what God expects in your house, church, family, school, office, interactions and relationships with people. If that productivity doesn't exist, then you actually are not living the God kind of life. Wherever you find yourself, the office with the annoying colleague, at home with mean neighbours, you are meant to cause change. You have a kind of life to live that anything short of that would make the record of your existence void.                                 ...

Let Him fix you

Phillipians 4:6-8 (MSG) Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. I have said and heard this words many times. But i just saw it for the first time that 1. When you worry, you are easing substituting prayer in your mind. 2. Worries and Prayers can be shaped. 3. God knows everything but you can still ALLOW HIM KNOW your concerns. 4. Putting christ or worry at the center of your life is up to you.  Recently i have had to question peace. What is the best way to explain peace?  Is it a sense of feeling empty, bland or void of emotion?  Now i realise that the feeling like your life is all over the place, splattered like a juicy tomato against the wall and it seems like someo...

..............Tell Me what can I Do?

Recently i have been exposed to some songs. Not the regular gigs but some that stir something deep in my soul. There's a difference between singing, song and sung. Many people that are sufficient in themselves would not have the slightest idea what this means. Its a sign of desperation, utter realisation that you are the end of the road. Its really cute and warm and comforting when your friends ask you this question or someone that really fancies you and you aren't giving them the time of day. Out of the whole song this is the only line that calls to me. It is very easy to get swallowed up in the familiar reverie that I've been church and  christian my whole life, but yet you are as independent and detached. A great icon went to join the line up on Sunday and everybody has been sad and solemn. When i heard about it, a salute came from deep within me. I knew he got it. But when i heard that his daughter and team were there, it was really scary for me. The fact that t...
